Private Prayer Language in the Waco Trib

Kay King of Eddy, Texas has her Letter to the Editor published in the Waco Tribune on Private Prayer Language. Check it out. Also stop by later for the best PPL cartoon yet...
“Seminary votes to prohibit praying in tongues,” reports the Trib Oct. 19. Voting against a gift God himself thought his people needed?

[Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary president] Paige Patterson’s intolerance of private prayer language among his seminarians is more dangerous than the delusion of an unbeliever.

In their zealous quest to control denominational agenda and protect traditions of man, have these voting regents lost their fear of God to the level of exalting themselves to be like the Most High?

God’s word — all of it — is already settled in heaven. Where, then, are these theologians who dissect, vote on, forbid or choose not to “make room for” God’s gifts?

Tragically, far from the beginning of wisdom.

These are the same SBC people who have spent the last 30 years trying to control women. It was only a matter of time before they were trying to control everyone's private prayer life too. The issue isn't really about Scripture at all; it is about power and control.
